We are aware of that Optus has reported a serious security data breach. We would like all our customers to know that no Well Money systems have been affected by this event and we will continue to monitor the situation.
Our funding partners have also advised that no systems have been compromised as a result of the Optus data breach and they will also continue to monitor the situation.
We take cyber security very seriously and use a combination of security best practices to safeguard our systems and to verify and protect customer data.
What should you be doing?
While we continue to monitor the Optus situation, we recommend that all customers monitor their accounts (not just your mortgage, but any account) and to reach out if there’s any unusual activity and call 1300 652 220 straight away.
Always remember to be wary of unexpected emails, phone calls or messages that ask you to take any actions. Rather than clicking on links given to you, try to verify the information from another source. For example – if you receive a message asking you to click on a link and enter your password, stop! Don’t do it! Get in touch with the provider first and ask for help.
